平野屋」。大正10年創業甘納豆専門店です。
東京新聞1月29日付けの最終面によれば、中学受験の年、東京大空襲をこの地で経験したというご主人。
川沿いに避難したので、危うく命を落とすことなく、 すでに五〇年以上、甘納豆づくりひと筋。「震災も空襲もあったが、私の代で100年まで続けたい」と 仰っています。建物は戦後のもので、水引のれんの下がる店構えは趣があります。

基本の甘納豆は昔ながらの表面が糖化したドライタイプ。ひと粒ひと粒がふっくら艶やか美形のお豆、食欲をそそる最上級の出来栄えです。さらりとキレの良い甘さは充分に時間をかけて仕上げた証し。一般的に甘納豆は数日かけて蜜煮をくり返し
砂糖を煮ふくめた後、じっくり時間をかけて内側から表面を糖化させます。
つまり、お砂糖をまぶす目的は、糖化を促すため平野屋の甘納豆の特徴は豆らしさが生きたふくよかなうま味。
私が感激したのはまるまると太った”お多福”
皮から芯まで抵抗なくすんなりした歯ざわり。
アクのないまったりした贅沢な味わいで
まるで一つ一つが品の良いひとくち菓子のよう。
